What does it feel like if you, as a young aspiring talent, send 60 applications for a summer job, but only receive 30 responses? What kind of a message does it send to our young people? This was one topic that raised a fervent discussion at our Henley Alumni afterwork.
At our afterwork, the idea is not to be too formal, nor do we have a set agenda for our meetings. On the contrary, the idea is to mix people and to have unexpected discussions and change of ideas. Many people have expressed that this kind of talks are far more interesting than conventional round table talks. This time we got a new table in a more comfortable corner, and this really sparked up the conversation. We ended up pondering about how the change of context and setup affect the quality of discussions and inclusion.
