Alumni afterwork 03/2023

What tribes are there in Finland?

A taxi driver in Kenya asked this question from Jussi Vallinkoski (

This excellent question was one of the topics discussed during afterwork on Thursday, 30.3, in the traditional restaurant Venn.

Are specific groups of people tribes in Finland, like people who speak a particular language, for example, Swedish? Interestingly, several people around the table confirmed that the feeling of belonging to one specific group might vary by a person’s location. Examples were given: in both Finnish-speaking Sysmä and Swedish-speaking Parainen, a person identifies themselves as a Finnish-Swedish and, on the contrary, in some other place as a bilingual. How about? Could the political party members be understood as a tribe? If there are tribes in Finland, Henley alumni might want to evaluate how tribes are considered from a strategic marketing perspective.

Once again, Henley Business School alumni afterwork, proved how nice it is to sit in peace and chat with Henley pears. Every single time we have found discussion topics giving us new insights. Thank you to all active participants!

We welcome all alumni to the next afterwork Thursday, 11.5. Afterworks are for easy access, just pop-up, no registration.

  • 1 syys 2023
This year Henley Finland Alumni Summer Party was executed with a totally new concept, in restaurant Teatteri’s Klubi Terrace. We raised the toast to our graduands and an amazing keynote speaker, E. Elisabet Lahti, founder of SISU LAB, talked in a fireside chat about Sisu.
