Executive MBA - Henley Business School Suomessa

Career services as part of the Henley MBA

The decision to embark upon an MBA is a big one! There’s so many things to think about; have I got the time, have I got the money, have I got the will power, will my employer support me, how will I juggle this commitment with the other areas of my life, am I bright enough, how will I compare to others? All are really important in their own right. However, most people have an underlying reason to do the MBA which is so compelling that these questions often distract us from the real question, why do I want to do this and what will be different for me once I’ve got it?

The answer to that question often involves intentions around career and finding a new personal and/or professional challenge. In fact those who chose Henley Business School, often realise that it’s even more fundamental than that. It’s about the MBA enabling the journey towards finding an overall sense of purpose and fulfilment which often, but not entirely, manifests itself in a career.

The Henley Careers & Professional Development team are entirely focused on supporting our MBA students through this journey of personal and professional growth. No matter what your ultimate goal, there are a plethora of ways in which you can engage with the team during the taught programme itself or in extra-curricular events or through online tools & resources.

There are so many opportunities available for you to engage in. For example, there are integrated Careers, Leadership & Professional development workshops offered on topics such as working with your strengths, building resilience and leading with gravitas. In addition, you can engage in activities outside of the classroom ranging from building relationships and networks beyond your cohort that can facilitate your learning and development journey, to exploring the concepts behind stand-up comedy as a way of sparking new thoughts, ideas and ways to engage others, or meet a senior alum over a scrummy breakfast in a swanky hotel to pick their brains on their journey to date. In addition if you like to learn and discover in your own time, our virtual learning environment contains lots of useful information, tools and resources to enable your own career development, you can watch webinars on developing your personal brand, building networking strategies or taking a mid-career checkup for instance, and start building the perfect CV with our intelligent CV builder!

Overwhelmed already? Don’t panic! The trick is knowing where to start, how to engage and what’s going to have the biggest impact on your personal and professional development journey. One of the ways we can help you to get focused is by working with one of our fabulous executive coaches. This is at the core of the Henley Careers & Professional Development offering, executive coaching to support you on your journey and helping you to make sense of everything, so that you leave us having made progress on your professional development path and with a sense of clarity of what might be coming next. In fact you can access this resource for up to 4 years after you graduate.

What’s stopping you? We can’t wait to meet you! Learn more about the Henley Executive MBA

What have I learned about myself during the Henley EMBA?

  • 17 huhti 2023
The EMBA programme in general and the Personal Development module has been a great opportunity to constructively challenge my views and beliefs about myself. I’ve found myself increasingly disagreeing with some identity labels that I previously considered useful and accurate.
