How to differentiate? – Henley Career Event 6.11.2014

Around 40 members of Henley Finland alumni gathered yesterday 6th November in Restaurant Savoy to hear more about the executive search process. The topic was How to differentiate.

The event was opened by Chairman of Henley Alumni Board Jussi Niemelä and continued with keynote speakers Managing Director Göran Hernberg from Oy Proselectum Ab, a major recruitment agency in Finland and Vice President of Organisation & Talent Development Mathias Höglund from Cargotec Corporation.

Göran Hernberg talked about how search consultants act, how they find candidates and how does social media help both consultants and candidates in the recruiting process. The main message was that CV, application and especially social media like LinkedIn, play important role in today’s job search.

Mathias Höglund viewed the topic from the recruiter’s point of view emphasizing the importance of being yourself and knowing what you want to do. He provided tips which can be used in the recruiting process and finally winning it. The main message was the importance of knowing what you want, showing that you are motivated and being yourself through the entire process. Also the importance of networking and leaving a good track behind you was highlighted.

Henley Business School and Henley Alumni board want to thank everyone who took part in the event.

Leader in spotlight: Pia Aaltonen-Forsell, CFO

  • 7 heinä 2023
Pia Aaltonen-Forsell is CFO of Outokumpu, the largest stainless steal producer in Europe. She does not have the most obvious background for a CFO: she is Master of Social Sciences in economics. She thinks that her background is a great asset, since as a CFO you need to understand the economy in general, not just business.

A different kind of afterwork?

Not a corporate presentation, yet interesting discussions on professional matters. Beer and wine for sure, but not just that.
