The deficit approach to leadership development has failed to adequately prepare leaders for todayโ€™s complex and challenging organisations. Strength-based approaches offer a new perspective and more effective methodology for developing leaders where strengths can be identified, developed and aligned with role and business challenges. However the strength-based approach is not without its critics and has been accused of ignoring weaknesses and developing lopsided leaders.

This webinar is aimed at those working in the area of leadership development including HR and L&D professionals and leaders who are interested in this approach.

The speaker

Dr. Doug MacKie is a business psychologist, executive coach and Director of CSA Consulting. He has over 25 years of experience in the assessment and development of executives, leadership and team capability within top companies in Australia, Asia and the UK. He has a particular expertise in positive leadership development and has pioneered the development of strength-based approaches to developing transformational leaders with organisations.

Doug has presented at international conferences and published in leading journals on positive leadership development, the importance of effective evaluation and assessing ROI in coaching engagements and the development of high performing teams. He is the author of the definitive text, โ€œStrength-based leadership coaching in organisationsโ€ (2016) based on his research in this area and one of the editors of the forthcoming Practitionerโ€™s Handbook of Team Coaching (2019).
